A developmentally disabled young man tries to continue the work his father did in communicating with extra-terrestrials from outer space, which leads to something miraculous and wonderful. Scientist Sanjay Mehra devises a computer that is capable of contacting aliens. His happiness is cut short when the scientists at a space-research center scoff at him and refuse to believe his claims. While returning home with his pregnant wife, he glimpses an alien spaceship, and, in the resulting confusion, he cannot control his car, leading to a crash. His wife survives but their unborn child suffers brain damage. Years later, their son Rohit Mehra has grown up but has thinking capacity of a child. He befriends the town Mayor's daughter Nisha, which angers Nisha's suitor Raj, a spoiled brat. One day, Rohit and Nisha find Rohit's father's computer in his shed and follow the instructions provided. That very evening, their town is paid a visit by an alien spaceship that lands someplace nearby and takes off shortly afterward. But when the police inspect the footprints, they discover that one of the aliens has been left behind. Then Rohit and Nisha find the alien, name him Jadoo, and watch as their lives slide into virtual chaos. Even though i am not a huge fan of Hindi cinema but because of the common language between us i watch their movies on and off, some of which are pretty good. This is not one of them.<br/><br/>It was atleast good to see that they tried to do something different, as pathethic as it is, maybe after a few more experiments they will get it right.<br/><br/>***Spoilers***<br/><br/>The movie is a stew of about 4 or 5 Hollywood movies (As many of hindi movies are) They have bits from E.T., Spiderman, Deep Impact and a couple of slapstic flicks, the names of which i cannot recall at this time.<br/><br/>The story is basically E.T. except that we have a brain damaged young man playing the role of The Kid in E.T. There are a lot of music and dance numbers which are not bad but whenever they tried to add something of their own to the story they have ended up making a mess.<br/><br/>The Physics is so bad that even some one like Rakesh Roshan must have known that a child of grade 6 would not be impressed.<br/><br/>I mean Instant messaging aliens from another planet via a radio broadcast. Mr Roshan, radio waves travel at the speed of light and would take 4 years to reach the nearest star.<br/><br/>Well…….. instead of describing it's follies i would just say that if u wanna watch something other then the usual bollywood melodrama you are welcome to try it but dont keep your hopes too high, just enjoy the show.<br/><br/>2 1/2 out of 5 (Which includes 1 star for bravery) …..Here that someone is none other than ET - Extra-terrestrial !! - come right from the Outer Space.<br/><br/>The hero of the movie is shown here as a mentally challenged boy whose mental maturity level stops maturing after 6 years ..but physically he grows up to be a highly muscular, hulk of a man.<br/><br/>His playmates are of course kids between the age group of 6-8 . He is teased by his earlier classmates but he does not mind as he does not understand that he is being teased.<br/><br/>In comes a beautiful, scantily dressed oomph - shown driving the open jeep - don't miss her short skirt - and the kid-at-heart hero falls in love with her and expects her to marry him ! His Mother then explains him that his father was a scientist who had found out a way to connect to the outer space and invite the people residing in the outer space ..and when she was carrying him - they had met with an accident as the Outer space creatures had actually come down and messed up a lot many things ! So the reason behind his immaturity was the Outer space fella.<br/><br/>This, the Outer space fellow was hearing it all , hidden in the basket (as he had already descended on Mother Earth and was taken care of by the hero)- The ET heals him and he becomes the most macho - most sought after man around.<br/><br/>The heroine obviously agrees to marry him quickly and alls well that ends well !! <br/><br/>Conclusion : The Bollywood Directors are basically infants at heart and have reached the peak of pitiable condition ! - also they are showing false hopes and dreams to the physically challenged and handicapped children as they all know that nothing of this sort will ever happen with them…but this is not stopping them from falling in love with some pretty neighbourhood lass and getting heart- broken in return - as no normal girl would like to spend the rest of her life with an idiot.<br/><br/>Before making a movie, the Directors should think of the consequences as well !
